Oversized Baggage
For items that exceed our size limitations as specified under Checked Baggage, it may be possible for an additional fee. Excess weight charges may also apply. Please see Fees for details of required charges. We cannot accept any single item that weighs more than 32kg (70lbs). All oversized baggage is charged on a per-piece basis. Please note, each customer is able to purchase only one oversized baggage allowance (20kg) on website. Additional oversized baggage allowance can be purchased during check-in at our airport counters.
Sports Equipment
Sports equipment, including but not limited to bicycles, diving equipment, golf equipment, skis, snowboards and surfboards may be considered as oversized baggage and are also subject to the following additional restrictions.
- Bicycle – must not be motorized
- Snowboard/Surfboard – maximum dimensions of 277cm (109”)

Assistance Dogs
HK Express does not accept pets for carriage, whether in the cabin or in the hold. This restriction does not apply to assistance dogs. Please see Special Assistance > Travelling with an Assistance Dog for more details.
Mobility Aids
Mobility aids such as wheelchairs and walkers will be accepted in addition to the customer’s baggage allowance.
Musical Instruments
You may bring musical instruments onboard provided they meet our standard cabin baggage size and weight limitations listed below. All musical instruments must be stored in a sturdy, hard-side case with rounded edges. Soft cases will not be accepted.
The maximum linear size (H x W x D) accepted in the cabin is 22 x 14 x 9 inches and must not weigh more than 7kg (15.4lbs). The instrument will be considered part of your cabin baggage allowance.
Extra Seat Purchase
The purchase of an extra seat to transport personal items or for extra baggage storage is not allowed at this point. If Customers would like to purchase an extra seat for their own comfort, they may do so via our official website or call centre.
